I realize I haven't posted in awhile. We have been busy getting things for the trailer and spending a few weekends out there getting it all finished before Dale's surgery on June 28th.
We were planning on going out the weekend of June 1st. We had bought a small shed and Craig had graciously offered his truck to haul it out - after it had been dismantled of course. Gary and Dale took it out the Friday evening and found our trailer had a major leak and the bed was flooded. He said they took buckets of water off the bed. They put the mattress into the living room and put pails on the bed to catch the drips. When Dale and I went out on Sat, the mattress was dry and since it wasn't raining, we thought it would be ok to make the bed up. Leon and Elaine came out with Leon's tall ladder and he and Dale got on the roof to see what was leaking. Dale caulked one spot he thought was the culprit, but put a pail onto the ceiling overnight, just in case. This is a picture of the pail hanging over my head. But, it was like Dale said, "Better a pail above you, than water dripping on you!"
My golf cart came that weekend as well. It was an adventure driving over the little hills and turns in the campsite, but it was fun!
Dale also worked on the deck and got it all situated where he wanted it. It was very comfy sitting on it in our "new to us" patio furniture.
We put the awning out and later, Leon gave us a few tips on putting it up and down. So nice to have such knowledgeable people living close by!!
On Sunday, we toured the Farmer's Market in Regina Beach. It was a nice, hot day and we had a good time. Got a few "goodies" from the used tables and even got a big boxful of cassette tapes to play on our cassette player that came with the camper. We threw out a lot, but kept some classical and golden oldies.
The water looked so nice - made us want to hurry and get our boat into the water!! But, there was much work to do on it before that.
